Week 29

Thank you soooooo much for all of the Birthday wishes and updates on life. Keep them coming!

Our area is still on Fire! We have three baptisms lined up week by week starting this Saturday!

This Saturday Joseph, a Mississippi man, who has been investigating the church since October and he is finally getting baptized! It is going to be a great week preparing him for that great covenant with God.

The Saturday After that, the 6th of February, Jennifer, who we have been working with since I got here will be baptized! She has been preparing herself for a good long while and is totally ready! She needs this. She has had her eyes opened to what her worth is and I never want her to forget it!

The Saturday after that, the 13th of February, Fernando, who has been looking into the church on and off for a year or two, will be baptized! He had an amazing experience after  we gave him a blessing and he told us, "Elders, you after the best people I know and I thank you so much. Even though I was frustrated with you at first, Elder Alger, you apologized and I forgave you. Elders Climer and Alger I want to get Baptized; I am ready." We then said "Ok! We can Definitely make that happen!" Fernando has been really dedicated to learning and doing the things he needs to do become a baptized member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

We are having a wonderful time dedicating our lives to something bigger than the world! The work of Salvation to God's children! I love being on my mission and going out to do the Lord's work, even on my birthday!
Have a wonderful week!

Grant hill the nice point in my area. You can see a lot from up there.

First time at a Vegetarian restaurant. I had the roast beet burger. It wasn't bad but it wasn't meat.

Week 26

It has been cold and rainy here too because of  El Niño. It is a weather pattern that brings the cool ocean air onto San Diego and in result a good bunch of rain too. The opposite is La Niña where hot desert air come from Arizona and Mexico and keeps San Diego Warm for the winter.
I personally like El Niño. I love the rain and the cold weather. While all of the Weather Wusses of San Diego don't, so they think I am weird or something. What else is new right?

With my goals for the new year, I am confident that as put my faith fully in the Lord and work as hard as I can and let the Lord do his part it will happen. As said above I have faith that the Lord will bless me and my companion with 100 people to share the gospel with and baptize this year.  This will not be easy and I could not even dream of doing it on my own. But with the Lord at my side and as I consecrate myself as a missionary of Jesus Christ, all things are possible. I will go forth with the Faith of the Sons of Mosiah!

Our companionship is doing well. I have had a history of caring deeply for my companions because I love them as I would my brother. But as a result I would go towards the extreme of over caring and trying to help when I was not invited to. I am striving to balance myself on this by looking towards the Savior. The Savior always has His hand outstretched to assist but the person He is striving to help needs to grab hold before any helping can happen. Likewise, I plan on letting my companions know I am always there to help but not to give unwanted help.

The area is catching on fire. Michael is going to be baptized this week and we have about 3 other baptisms that will potentially happen this month.
Have a Fantastic Day!
