Week 24

The mission is going great! I have a new stud of a companion, Elder Climer. We are serving in the most densely populated area of San Diego. We have about 10-15 square miles in our ward and 20,000 people in it. 900 of them being members, active or not. We currently have about 90-100 people attend sacrament. We also have 4 investigators with a baptismal date in January! All of which were set in the last 6 days I have been here. We are hastening the work. I love being on a mission. Elder Climer is a very mellow Elder. I have a hard time knowing how he is feeling. His expression seems to be neutral all of the time. He is great though! He wants to do missionary work and do it right, so our
area is on fire. We had our mission devotional yesterday. All of the missionaries in the whole mission gathered together for music and talks by Pres. And Sis. Schmitt. We had a brunch after and I was able to see all of my MTC district in one place again! It was awesome.

Merry Christmas!
Love,
Elder Josh Alger

Week 23

This week has been great. Yesterday was probably the highlight. We had three appointments scheduled for the giant 9 hour time chunk that is from 12 pm to 9 pm (in comparison to the usual 5-9 appointments) we were really struggling for people to find. I said a prayer early in the day asking how we can be diligent with our time despite the lack of people to see. As we went along we ended up teaching a few lessons and receiving a referral investigator from the Spanish missionaries that has a baptismal date. It was a day of miracles.

This is the missionary guidelines for technology use it is really amazing and I think it would be really  useful in technology use at home too. I just thought I would make it available to all of you. :)

This is the dot game we would play some times on Sunday's back home.
We aren't aloud to play card or board games so we compromised. :D

The rest of these are pics with our district for district lunch it was the day before Elder Shepard, our district Leader had to go home. It was a good time.

Week 20

This week has been Great!

The mission is so rewarding. This week we have two investigators with solid baptismal dates! its awesome! and we have been finding new investigators like none other. When our mission President sent out a super inspiring message and and encouragement to add 10 new investigators the mission has been flourishing. we have had so much more work.

I love you all and I have to make this short because Elder Wilson really wants to play sports.
